Founded in 1955 by Dr. Emmette Izard, Sycamore Reservation’s purpose is to encourage outdoor education. The Sycamore Reservation consists of over 400 scenic acres in the Zoar Valley area of Western New York’s Southern Tier. Located on Connoisarauley creek, a tributary to the Cattaraugus, in valleys that were created by the glaciers, it has fossils that abound on the shores of the creek along with all other types of rocks - igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Wildlife - deer, turkey, hawks, red efts, crayfish, toads, tadpoles, salmon, sunfish and trout. Many species of trees including the sycamore tree and plants including the Mayapple, also known as Mandrake, can be found on the grounds. Many service projects available for youth groups. Our facilities include a picnic pavilion, camp grounds, and flush toilets. Purified water from our natural spring is available in the pavilion.

Sycamore Reservation, Inc. was officially incorporated as a NY State NOT-FOR-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 1972, and is currently managed by an all volunteer board of directors.

When you #StartWithaSmile we can provide outdoor education for youth for years to come. #AmazonSmile
